Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.47% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which rose 3.82% or 0.750 points to trade at 20.400 at the close. Banca Generali (MI:BGN) added 2.22% or 0.66 points to end at 30.34 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) was up 2.21% or 0.58 points to 26.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI), which lost 2.50% or 0.16 points to trade at 6.24 in late trade. Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) declined 1.45% or 0.042 points to end at 2.850 and Snam (MI:SRG) shed 1.41% or 0.058 points to 4.044.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 184 to 180 and 20 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.09% or 0.06 to $63.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $69.30 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.72% or 9.60 to trade at $1329.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.2239, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8809.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 90.32.
