Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which rose 2.65% or 0.61 points to trade at 23.67 at the close. Mediaset (MI:MS) added 2.46% or 0.078 points to end at 3.244 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was up 2.22% or 0.84 points to 38.73 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which lost 2.35% or 0.066 points to trade at 2.746 in late trade. Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI) declined 1.38% or 0.18 points to end at 12.82 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) shed 1.32% or 0.36 points to 26.98.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 185 to 174 and 16 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.09% or 0.05 to $57.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.22% or 0.14 to hit $62.59 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 1.05% or 13.40 to trade at $1264.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.1815, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 93.35.
