Negotiations between Australian fund Macquarie and Italian state lender Cassa Depositi e Prestiti over the governance of Italian broadband company Open Fiber are stalling, La Repubblica reported on Wednesday. The stalemate is hampering a project to merge Open Fiber's network assets with those of Italy's former phone monopolist Telecom Italia TLIT.MI , the daily said.

Serie A on Tuesday lacked the required majority to award sport streaming app DAZN the rights to screen Italy's top flight soccer league matches over the 2021-2024 seasons, sources close to the matter said. Serie A said in a statement the clubs would reconvene on Friday to discuss the deal. DAZN offered some 850 million euros per season to secure the rights to screen all Serie A matches over the next three seasons.
