Italy reported 270 coronavirus-related deaths on Sunday, down from 385 the day before, the health ministry said. Draghi's prospects of forming a government in Italy were boosted on Saturday when the two largest parties in parliament, the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement and the rightist League, both gave him their conditional backing. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte told a meeting of 5-Star Movement groups late on Sunday he does not want to be part of the government Draghi is seeking to put together, Ansa news said, citing sources present at the meeting.

Dialog Semiconductor confirmed on Sunday it was in advanced talks with Renesas Electronics Corporation 6723.T about a potential sale, valuing it at around $6 billion. group's Chief Executive Jean-Marc Chery told L'Economia-Corriere della Sera that he would be glad to keep leading the company for the next three years, if he was asked to do so.

The CEO of Banco BPM Giuseppe Castagna met the head of insurer Unipol Carlo Cimbri on Jan. 20 to push on talks over a possible tie-up of the bank with smaller rival BPER Banca in which Unipol is the largest shareholder, Il Messaggero said on Sunday. But Cimbri and BPER top management are focused first on integrating the branches they secured as part of the UBI-Intesa Sanpaolo merger deal, it said. The paper said Giorgio Girondi, who owns 4% of Banco BPM, had options to buy a further 2% of the bank.

The bank is considering a 500 million euro subordinated bond to replenish its capital ahead of a Feb. 25 board meeting, la Repubblica reported on Saturday.

Four US funds are interested in joining the data room process for the sale of the state's stake in the bank, Il Messaggero said on Sunday. Luxury carmaker Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) will pay its workers in Italy a slightly higher annual efficiency bonus based on 2020 performance despite the impact on the auto industry from the coronavirus pandemic. It said it would pay an additional gross sum of 2,100 euros to bring the total gross value of the award to 7,526 euros per employee. As a result of measures, most employees will receive a bonus increase of 7%, it said.
