Investing.com – Israel equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Biomed, Insurance and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 25 declined 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 25 were Gazit Globe (TA:GZT), which rose 2.27% or 75 points to trade at 3375 at the close. Frutarom (TA:FRUT) added 1.11% or 230 points to end at 20950 and Mizrahi Tefahot (TA:MZTF) was up 0.78% or 42 points to 5418 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK), which lost 1.77% or 75 points to trade at 4151 in late trade. Israel Corp (TA:ILCO) declined 1.37% or 800 points to end at 57500 and Perrigo (TA:PRGO) shed 1.36% or 460 points to 33460.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 182 to 146 and 115 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.17% or 0.54 to $46.60 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.24% or 0.60 to hit $48.84 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.90% or 10.60 to trade at $1189.00 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.60% to 3.8483, while EUR/ILS fell 0.71% to 4.0714.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 101.45.
