Investing.com – Israel equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Communication, Insurance and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 declined 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK), which rose 2.58% or 29 points to trade at 1154 at the close. Perrigo (TA:PRGO) added 1.86% or 270 points to end at 14800 and Isramco Negev 2 LP (TA:ISRAp) was up 0.53% or 0.2 points to 37.7 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Harel (TA:HARL), which lost 2.73% or 69 points to trade at 2460 in late trade. Fattal 1998 Holdings Ltd (TA:FATTAL) declined 2.61% or 1050 points to end at 39110 and Liveperson (TA:LPSN) shed 2.54% or 180 points to 6901.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 251 to 128 and 29 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 3.06% or 1.39 to $46.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 3.25% or 1.75 to hit $55.55 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.52% or 6.70 to trade at $1288.00 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.32% to 3.7447, while EUR/ILS fell 0.64% to 4.2514.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.66% at 96.368.
