Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Biomed, Insurance and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 added 0.25% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were Harel (TA:HARL), which rose 3.11% or 77 points to trade at 2555 at the close. Phoenix Holdings Ltd (TA:PHOE1) added 1.96% or 39 points to end at 2031 and Israel Discount Bank Ltd (TA:DSCT) was up 1.84% or 23.0 points to 1273.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK), which lost 7.03% or 95 points to trade at 1257 in late trade. Liveperson (TA:LPSN) declined 2.08% or 177 points to end at 8313 and Perrigo (TA:PRGO) shed 1.13% or 190 points to 16610.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 216 to 151 and 47 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.54% or 1.32 to $53.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 2.14% or 1.28 to hit $61.09 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 6.55 to trade at $1309.65 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.11% to 3.6776, while EUR/ILS rose 0.02% to 4.1978.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 95.532.
