International Graphite Ltd (ASX:IG6) has intersected fresh areas of graphite mineralisation in a drilling program investigating the previously undrilled target SDE_1 at Springdale Graphite Project in Western Australia.
The reverse circulation (RC) program was expanded to 39 holes for about 3,160 metres based on positive results but remains shallow, only testing to about 100 metres of depth.
Samples are being submitted for laboratory assaying as drilling progresses, with results expected within eight weeks.
After the SDE_1 program is complete, IG6 will mobilise the drill rigs to the existing mineral resource area for infill drilling, as well as new discoveries at the Far West and Central prospects.
Potential to expand resource estimate
“Springdale has generated outstanding exploration results in 2022 and this expanded drilling campaign, based on the positive results to date, continues to highlight the prospectivity of our licences,” International Graphite founder and executive chair Phil Hearse said.
“The latest visual intercepts from this campaign follow similar intercepts from our new discoveries at Far West and Central and indicate the significant upside to the existing mineral resource estimate at Springdale.”
The new graphite zones at SDE_1 are particularly encouraging for IG6 as they offer further evidence of the efficacy of airborne electromagnetic (AEM) survey data for the Springdale Project, which has already identified several graphite targets yet to be tested.
