International Graphite Ltd (ASX:IG6) has gone from strength to strength at the Springdale Graphite Project in Western Australia, identifying new mineralised systems and confirming the high-grade nature of these graphite targets with each phase of drilling.

IG6 most recently completed 12 diamond holes and 39 reverse circulation (RC) infill holes over high-grade graphite domains, with results solidifying the potential of these domains.

“Every phase of our drill program at Springdale has identified either new areas of high-grade mineralisation or confirmed the existing high-grade zones,” International Graphite managing director and CEO Andrew Worland said.

“These diamond drill results give us great confidence about the quality and potential of the Springdale resource and its capacity to sustain a shallow, long-life open pit mining operation.

“The data from this drilling provides key geological input that will be used in the next stage of resource modelling as we progress mining studies and feasibility assessment.”

Latest Springdale assays

Standout diamond drilling results include:

SGDD0002:

  • 4.6 metres at 11.1% Total Graphitic Carbon (TGC) from 81.6 metres downhole; and
  • 10.1 metres at 13.0% TGC from 88 metres, including 2 metres at 22.5% from 89 metres.

SGDD0003:

  • 8.8 metres at 8.3% TGC from 22 metres;
  • 2.5 metres at 13.0% TGC from 57.5 metres; and
  • 1.8 metres at 10.1% TGC from 64.8 metres.

SGDD0006:

  • 8.6 metres at 14.8% TGC from 9.4 metres, including 1.6 metres at 32.4% from 15.2 metres; and
  • 2.7 metres at 13.8% TGC from 39.5 metres, including 1-metre at 24.4% from 40.2 metres.

SGDD0007 - SGDD0011

  • 3.1 metres at 21.0% TGC from 35.9 metres, including 1-metre at 36.2%;
  • 7.2 metres at 18.3% TGC from 16.8 metres, including 2.5 metres at 40.1%;
  • 23 metres at 9.6% TGC from 10 metres, including 4 metres at 26.3%, 1-metre at 15% from 36 metres and 4.2 metres at 9.2% from 40.1 metres;
  • 3.2 metres at 15.8% TGC from 51.9 metres; and
  • 19 metres at 5.7% TGC from 53 metres, including 1.3 metres at 32.6% from 59.3 metres.

International Graphite has so far kept drilling at Springdale to a shallow 100-125 metres deep, with all holes remaining open at depth.

The company intends to continue infill drilling throughout February this year, at which point IG6 expects to have sufficient data to complete a new mineral resource estimate for Springdale that would support mining studies and feasibility assessments.
