The International Mining and Resources Conference 2024 is right around the corner – now in its 11th year, the conference has become of the premier forums for resources dialogue and industry innovation.
The conference will kick off at 8:00 am AEDT tomorrow, Tuesday, October 29.
“I have attended IMARC every year since it started because it is the best forum to understand what is happening in the mining industry and who is leading the pack,” Michelle Ash, BHP (ASX:BHP)'s vice president Growth, said.
“Whether you are part of a mining company, supplier, startup, government or just someone interested in the industry, you will find something for you.”
Cutting edge of future technologies
IMARC 2024 will feature a raft of innovative showcases, keynote addresses and networking opportunities beyond the resources and mining sector, spanning the gamut of future technologies.
Artifcial intelligence, digitisation, aerospace and space exploration, automation and robotics will take centre stage at this year’s conference, as industry leaders explore how these technologies will allow us to overcome barriers in decarbonisation and sustainable development.
“IMARC allows us to present our solutions to make mining more efficient, sustainable and smart on an international stage,” Global Affairs Canada trade commissioner Mining Sector John Williams said.
“It attracts key investors by offering a competitive value proposition and showcases the role of leading mining nations in driving the future of the industry.
“IMARC’s global reach amplifies these opportunities, making it an essential event for those seeking to understand and invest in the next generation of mining advancements."
The conference has become a vital networking opportunity for nations seeking to accelerate decarbonisation efforts, with an emphasis on dialogue with leaders from Peru, South Korea, Chile, the United States, Mongolia, the European Union, Canada and areas of Latin America.
“As the global mining industry moves to reduce its environmental impact, embrace new technologies and support local communities, IMARC continues to play a crucial role in showcasing best practice, challenging industry thinking and encouraging new perspectives,” Newmont government and industry affairs manager Simon Troeth said.
“IMARC drives insightful conversations and valuable reflections on responsible mining and how mining can continue to meet the growing and changing needs of modern society.”
