HyTerra Ltd (ASX:HYT) has engaged with advisory firms and consultants to begin an independent resource assessment and natural hydrogen commercialisation strategy for its Nemaha Ridge Project in Kansas, USA.
This follows the company’s receipt of processed data gathered from an airborne gravity and magnetic geophysical survey carried out by Xcalibur MPH Canada Ltd, which is now being interpreted and enhanced by another specialist consultant.
The preliminary data has, however, assisted HyTerra to visualise the subsurface geology of the area, allowing it to commence discussions with several advisors.
Licence to operate
Meanwhile, HYT Operating LLC, the wholly-owned US-based subsidiary of HyTerra, has been granted a licence to operate in Kansas by the state's regulatory authority, Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC).
This means the company can now prepare the required regulatory filings for well designs to reach the well permitting stage.
To this end, HyTerra has asked several US-based drilling and operational consultants for estimated exploration well costs.
Industry events
HyTerra, the first ASX-listed company with a focus on pioneering the exploration and production of natural hydrogen, recently presented at two prominent industry events in the US and England.
Both events were well attended, demonstrating the growth in exploration activity and capital investment in the sector.
The US Department of Energy’s ARPA-E agency held a geologic hydrogen workshop in Washington to unite industry players and technology providers. ARPA-E is focused on developing technology to drive production of the lowest cost and lowest emission sources of geologic hydrogen.
As well, HyTerra executive director Avon McIntyre was invited by the Geological Society of London to present as keynote speaker at the 'Natural Hydrogen: A New Frontier for Energy Geoscience' conference focused on developing the geological understanding and application towards exploiting natural hydrogen.
