Horizon Minerals Ltd has strengthened its board with experienced mining executive and director Warren Hallam agreeing to join the company as a non-executive director effective September 1, 2024.
This change comes as the company transitions from explorer to gold producer with its flagship Boorara Gold Project near Kalgoorlie in WA’s Goldfields.
Strong track record
Hallam has a built a strong track record over 35 years in operations, corporate and senior leadership roles across multiple commodities, including previous managing director roles at Metals X Ltd, Millenium Metals Ltd and Capricorn Metals Ltd.
He is currently a non-executive director of St Barbara Ltd and Poseidon Nickel Ltd and non-executive chairman of Kingfisher (LON:KGF) Mining Ltd.

Non-executive chairman Ashok Parekh said: “We are delighted to welcome Warren to the board of Horizon as we transition the company from an explorer to producer. We look forward to his guidance during this exciting growth phase.”
Hallam is a metallurgist who also holds a Masters in Mineral Economics from Curtin University.
Resignation of Jon Price
Horizon has also fielded the resignation of former MD Jon Price as a non-executive director, effective from August 31, 2024. He tendered his resignation in order “to focus on other business commitments”.
Price joined the board of the company in January 2016 as managing director and guided Horizon through a transformational period of substantial resource growth prior to stepping down as managing director in June 2023.
