Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.76%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Dromeas (AT:DROr), which rose 29.73% or 0.033 points to trade at 0.144 at the close. Meanwhile, Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 12.32% or 0.017 points to end at 0.155 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was up 4.51% or 0.06 points to 1.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which fell 12.62% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.093 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 9.09% or 0.002 points to end at 0.020 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was down 8.97% or 0.04 points to 0.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 59 to 33 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) fell to all time lows; down 9.09% or 0.002 to 0.020. Shares in National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) fell to all time lows; losing 8.97% or 0.04 to 0.35.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.06% or 0.70 to $1114.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.71% or 0.32 to hit $45.41 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.17 to trade at $48.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1198, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.7390.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 96.16.
