Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Travel and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Hell.Exchanges (AT:EXCr), which rose 7.93% or 0.43 points to trade at 5.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) added 7.04% or 0.10 points to end at 1.52 and Corinth Pipe (AT:CORr) was up 5.00% or 0.050 points to 1.050 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr), which fell 27.59% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.021 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 23.81% or 0.005 points to end at 0.016 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was down 17.11% or 0.07 points to 0.32.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 60 to 42 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) fell to all time lows; falling 27.59% or 0.008 to 0.021. Shares in Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) fell to all time lows; losing 23.81% or 0.005 to 0.016. Shares in National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) fell to all time lows; falling 17.11% or 0.07 to 0.32.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.18% or 12.60 to $1081.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.74% or 0.31 to hit $41.64 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.03 to trade at $44.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.80% to 1.0745, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.7024.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.71% at 98.95.
