Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Banking and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Corinth Pipe (AT:CORr), which rose 8.65% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.130 at the close. Meanwhile, J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 6.01% or 0.020 points to end at 0.353 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 5.88% or 0.008 points to 0.144 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Attica Bank (AT:BOAr), which fell 8.57% or 0.003 points to trade at 0.032 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 4.17% or 0.001 points to end at 0.024 and Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) was down 3.46% or 0.54 points to 15.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 49 to 44 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.98% or 11.10 to $1148.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.87% or 1.79 to hit $48.05 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 4.34% or 2.13 to trade at $51.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.66% to 1.1261, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.7398.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.61% at 95.64.
