Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Food and Household sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.32% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR), which rose 6.76% or 0.38 points to trade at 6.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Iaso (AT:IASr) added 3.85% or 0.020 points to end at 0.540 and ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) was up 3.60% or 0.91 points to 26.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which fell 9.88% or 0.06 points to trade at 0.54 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 8.82% or 0.003 points to end at 0.031 and Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) was down 7.92% or 0.008 points to 0.093.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 53 to 49 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.60% or 0.91 to 26.20.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.28% or 3.30 to $1162.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.48% or 0.67 to hit $44.71 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.55% or 0.27 to trade at $47.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.71% to 1.1026, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.7183.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.63% at 97.04.
