Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Resources and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 4.42% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr), which rose 2.16% or 0.100 points to trade at 4.730 at the close. Intralot (AT:INLr) added 1.00% or 0.010 points to end at 1.010 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was up 0.74% or 0.010 points to 1.360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Halcor (AT:XAKO), which lost 11.46% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.309 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 9.17% or 0.021 points to end at 0.208 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) shed 8.48% or 0.0190 points to 0.2040.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 87 to 20 and 8 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.69% or 8.75 to $1284.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $49.08 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $50.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.1293, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.7924.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 94.39.
