Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 9.00% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.109 at the close. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) added 6.82% or 0.012 points to end at 0.189 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) was up 4.48% or 0.100 points to 2.330 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which lost 5.96% or 0.022 points to trade at 0.347 in late trade. Halcor (AT:XAKO) declined 4.46% or 0.025 points to end at 0.535 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) shed 3.74% or 0.0350 points to 0.9000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 63 to 39 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.25% or 3.05 to $1199.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.91% or 0.91 to hit $48.63 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.53% or 0.78 to trade at $51.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.26% to 1.0632, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.8701.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 101.37.
