Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 5.08% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.2070 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) added 4.55% or 0.0440 points to end at 1.0100 and Mytilineos Holdings SA (AT:MYTr) was up 4.00% or 0.170 points to 4.420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Euro Reliance (AT:EREr), which lost 6.70% or 0.140 points to trade at 1.970 in late trade. Hellenic Petroleum SA (AT:HEPr) declined 3.96% or 0.170 points to end at 4.120 and Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr) shed 3.45% or 0.27 points to 7.55.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 55 to 42 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.45% or 5.45 to $1212.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.61% or 0.30 to hit $48.80 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.34% or 0.17 to trade at $49.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1175, while EUR/GBP rose 1.08% to 0.7754.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.39% at 95.46.
