Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr), which rose 3.95% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.580 at the close. Hygeia (AT:HYGr) added 3.40% or 0.005 points to end at 0.152 and Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) was up 3.00% or 0.0700 points to 2.4000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which lost 6.67% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.560 in late trade. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) declined 4.08% or 0.075 points to end at 1.765 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) shed 3.54% or 0.004 points to 0.109.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 53 to 33 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.17% or 2.25 to $1330.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.93% or 0.85 to hit $45.00 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.94% or 0.44 to trade at $47.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1147, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8381.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 95.78.
