Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Household and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 7.91% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.500 at the close. Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) added 7.54% or 0.04 points to end at 0.50 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) was up 5.00% or 0.10 points to 2.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which lost 5.82% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.178 in late trade. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 4.71% or 0.034 points to end at 0.719 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) shed 4.42% or 0.050 points to 1.080.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 41 and 7 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.58% or 7.15 to $1222.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.47% or 0.23 to hit $48.85 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.99% or 0.48 to trade at $49.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1159, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.7581.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 95.43.
