Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Resources and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Autohellas (AT:AUTr), which rose 9.51% or 0.99 points to trade at 11.40 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) added 4.29% or 0.04 points to end at 0.95 and Hygeia (AT:HYGr) was up 4.27% or 0.005 points to 0.122 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Reds (AT:CAMr), which lost 20.31% or 0.079 points to trade at 0.310 in late trade. Bank of Cyprus PCL (AT:BOCr) declined 6.25% or 0.010 points to end at 0.150 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 5.26% or 0.005 points to 0.090.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 45 to 42 and 22 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 2.81% or 34.50 to $1264.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 3.48% or 1.34 to hit $39.80 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.43% or 0.98 to trade at $41.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.83% to 1.1318, while EUR/GBP fell 0.71% to 0.7815.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.96% at 94.78.
