Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Resources, Construction and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 10.58% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.115 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 7.14% or 0.006 points to end at 0.090 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) was up 3.46% or 0.011 points to 0.329 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Frigoglass (AT:FRIr), which lost 8.55% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.31 in late trade. Halcor (AT:XAKO) declined 3.48% or 0.008 points to end at 0.222 and Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) shed 3.27% or 0.13 points to 3.84.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 40 to 34 and 22 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 1.44% or 17.60 to $1241.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.01% or 0.76 to hit $36.99 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.41% or 0.96 to trade at $38.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1390, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8085.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 94.39.
