Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Resources and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which rose 5.26% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.120 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 3.23% or 0.004 points to end at 0.128 and Hellenic Petroleum SA (AT:HEPr) was up 3.09% or 0.230 points to 7.680 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 7.31% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.203 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 6.05% or 0.0150 points to end at 0.2400 and Terna Energy (AT:TENr) shed 3.19% or 0.110 points to 3.340.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 46 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.49% or 19.01 to $1256.89 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.56% or 0.25 to hit $44.48 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.34% or 0.16 to trade at $46.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.1156, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.8739.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 97.39.
