Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Travel and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr), which rose 4.28% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.950 at the close. Mytilineos Holdings SA (AT:MYTr) added 3.67% or 0.190 points to end at 5.370 and Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) was up 3.60% or 0.180 points to 5.180 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Halcor (AT:XAKO), which lost 5.63% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.335 in late trade. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 5.56% or 0.01 points to end at 0.17 and Iaso (AT:IASr) shed 5.43% or 0.025 points to 0.435.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 52 to 37 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.27% or 3.25 to $1224.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 4.20% or 1.82 to hit $45.14 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 3.85% or 1.71 to trade at $46.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.0734, while EUR/GBP rose 0.52% to 0.8639.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 100.15.
