Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 1.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which rose 7.61% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.49 at the close. FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) added 2.22% or 0.050 points to end at 2.310 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 1.85% or 0.002 points to 0.110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which lost 10.00% or 0.078 points to trade at 0.702 in late trade. Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr) declined 7.88% or 0.1300 points to end at 1.5200 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) shed 6.17% or 0.010 points to 0.152.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 56 to 33 and 10 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.99% or 12.20 to $1242.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.03% or 0.45 to hit $43.28 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.53% or 0.24 to trade at $44.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.1274, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.7775.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 94.66.
