Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Healthcare and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 3.98% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which rose 4.03% or 0.1800 points to trade at 4.6500 at the close. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) added 2.40% or 0.55 points to end at 23.50 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 2.16% or 0.170 points to 8.040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which lost 15.79% or 0.480 points to trade at 2.560 in late trade. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 15.48% or 0.124 points to end at 0.677 and Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) shed 13.24% or 0.009 points to 0.059.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 22 and 9 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.73% or 9.52 to $1307.02 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.97% or 1.00 to hit $51.66 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.34% or 1.32 to trade at $57.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.80% to 1.1861, while EUR/GBP fell 0.64% to 0.8791.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 92.34.
