Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Resources and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 2.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 4.33% or 0.086 points to trade at 2.070 at the close. Reds (AT:CAMr) added 2.25% or 0.020 points to end at 0.910 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) was up 1.64% or 0.09 points to 5.59 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which lost 29.95% or 0.055 points to trade at 0.128 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 18.35% or 0.0156 points to end at 0.0680 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) shed 8.20% or 0.009 points to 0.101.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 19 and 8 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.37% or 4.60 to $1251.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.10% or 0.80 to hit $73.56 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $77.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1580, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8844.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 94.91.
