Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Retail and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 2.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 1.26% or 0.025 points to trade at 2.010 at the close. Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) added 0.90% or 0.100 points to end at 11.200 and ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) was up 0.69% or 0.20 points to 29.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which lost 6.98% or 0.045 points to trade at 0.600 in late trade. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 6.80% or 0.023 points to end at 0.315 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) shed 5.82% or 0.022 points to 0.356.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 105 to 17 and 7 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.02% or 0.30 to $1337.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.57% or 0.37 to hit $65.08 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.27 to trade at $68.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.2416, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.8863.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 89.35.
