Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Financials and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 1.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which rose 17.16% or 0.350 points to trade at 2.390 at the close. Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) added 9.82% or 0.055 points to end at 0.615 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) was up 2.22% or 0.080 points to 3.680 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 5.45% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.210 in late trade. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) declined 4.72% or 0.002 points to end at 0.034 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) shed 4.38% or 0.158 points to 3.450.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 36 and 10 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.10% or 1.40 to $1335.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $63.76 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.07 to trade at $69.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.2242, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8847.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 90.33.
