Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Resources and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 1.66% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 5.63% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.0750 at the close. Loulis Mills (AT:LOUr) added 2.83% or 0.06 points to end at 2.18 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was up 1.85% or 0.030 points to 1.654 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Intralot (AT:INLr), which lost 10.71% or 0.072 points to trade at 0.600 in late trade. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 7.03% or 0.0450 points to end at 0.5950 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) shed 6.91% or 0.091 points to 1.225.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 75 to 41 and 6 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.23% or 2.80 to $1208.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.06% or 1.45 to hit $68.92 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.44% or 1.15 to trade at $78.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.1683, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8916.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 94.58.
