Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 1.41%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which rose 9.30% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.410 at the close. Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr) added 2.78% or 0.005 points to end at 0.178 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) was up 1.20% or 0.004 points to 0.296 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which lost 7.07% or 0.054 points to trade at 0.710 in late trade. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) declined 6.02% or 0.007 points to end at 0.106 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) shed 5.71% or 0.08 points to 1.32.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 70 to 26 and 23 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.02% or 0.25 to $1314.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.00% or 1.62 to hit $52.39 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.06% or 1.29 to trade at $61.40 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1356, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.8756.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 96.203.
