Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Banking and Retail sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 1.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which rose 43.51% or 2.850 points to trade at 9.400 at the close. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) added 18.51% or 0.007 points to end at 0.043 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 0.90% or 0.010 points to 1.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which lost 5.63% or 0.0480 points to trade at 0.8050 in late trade. Hygeia (AT:HYGr) declined 5.47% or 0.035 points to end at 0.605 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) shed 5.32% or 0.100 points to 1.780.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 74 to 37 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.36% or 4.70 to $1296.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.13% or 0.08 to hit $59.56 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.15% or 0.10 to trade at $65.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1945, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8888.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 92.37.
