Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Resources and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 1.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Hygeia (AT:HYGr), which rose 8.54% or 0.041 points to trade at 0.521 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) added 7.69% or 0.100 points to end at 1.400 and Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) was up 7.41% or 0.4000 points to 5.8000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 6.63% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.1550 in late trade. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) declined 5.52% or 0.010 points to end at 0.169 and Halcor (AT:XAKO) shed 5.00% or 0.070 points to 1.330.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 71 to 33 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.92% or 11.70 to $1266.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.23% or 0.13 to hit $57.34 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.10% or 0.06 to trade at $62.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1824, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8795.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 93.34.
