Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Resources and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.87% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which rose 19.73% or 0.103 points to trade at 0.624 at the close. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) added 7.41% or 0.018 points to end at 0.261 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was up 3.03% or 0.040 points to 1.360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iaso (AT:IASr), which lost 7.65% or 0.059 points to trade at 0.712 in late trade. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) declined 6.59% or 0.006 points to end at 0.085 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) shed 5.33% or 0.240 points to 4.260.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 60 to 40 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.78% or 10.38 to $1340.78 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.49% or 0.23 to hit $47.52 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.53% or 0.28 to trade at $52.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1914, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.9195.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 92.45.
