Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Retail, Household and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Hygeia (AT:HYGr), which rose 7.84% or 0.046 points to trade at 0.633 at the close. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) added 6.06% or 0.008 points to end at 0.147 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 4.69% or 0.500 points to 11.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which lost 4.35% or 0.150 points to trade at 3.300 in late trade. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 3.91% or 0.0340 points to end at 0.8350 and Select Textile (AT:EPIr) shed 3.85% or 0.008 points to 0.200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 55 to 55 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.74% or 9.90 to $1329.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.14% or 0.09 to hit $63.88 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.30% or 0.21 to trade at $69.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.2229, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 90.40.
