Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Travel, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which rose 12.88% or 0.085 points to trade at 0.745 at the close. Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr) added 4.08% or 0.060 points to end at 1.530 and Hygeia (AT:HYGr) was up 1.14% or 0.004 points to 0.354 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which lost 2.74% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.355 in late trade. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 1.55% or 0.002 points to end at 0.127 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) shed 1.26% or 0.004 points to 0.314.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 56 to 36 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.28% or 3.66 to $1294.66 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.31% or 0.15 to hit $47.98 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.46% or 0.24 to trade at $52.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1813, while EUR/GBP rose 0.64% to 0.9231.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 93.13.
