Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Healthcare and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 9.76% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.350 at the close. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 8.41% or 0.4500 points to end at 5.8500 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) was up 5.19% or 0.0070 points to 0.1420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which lost 6.34% or 0.044 points to trade at 0.650 in late trade. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 4.47% or 0.011 points to end at 0.235 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) shed 3.33% or 0.050 points to 1.450.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 51 to 46 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.70% or 8.97 to $1290.67 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.67% or 0.95 to hit $57.78 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.74% or 0.46 to trade at $63.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.1797, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8878.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 93.38.
