Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Financials and Household sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which rose 4.09% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.229 at the close. European Reliance General Insurance Co SA (AT:EREr) added 2.99% or 0.100 points to end at 3.450 and Kekrops SA (AT:KEKr) was up 2.48% or 0.0300 points to 1.2400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr), which lost 3.78% or 0.055 points to trade at 1.400 in late trade. Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr) declined 2.79% or 0.005 points to end at 0.174 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) shed 2.38% or 0.050 points to 2.050.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 47 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.98% or 12.10 to $1227.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.28% or 0.19 to hit $66.88 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.25% or 0.18 to trade at $72.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1686, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8872.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 94.53.
