Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Media, Chemicals and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.81% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH), which rose 5.86% or 0.130 points to trade at 2.350 at the close. Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) added 5.45% or 0.300 points to end at 5.800 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 4.70% or 0.039 points to 0.869 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jumbo SA (AT:BABr), which lost 3.97% or 0.635 points to trade at 15.365 in late trade. Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) declined 2.44% or 0.30 points to end at 12.00 and Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr) shed 2.24% or 0.18 points to 7.86.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 78 to 23 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.25% or 3.11 to $1257.71 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.36% or 0.16 to hit $44.62 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.60% or 0.28 to trade at $47.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.42% to 1.1193, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8752.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 97.14.
