Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Household and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.72% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 8.53% or 0.058 points to trade at 0.738 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) added 5.99% or 0.048 points to end at 0.850 and Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) was up 4.95% or 0.015 points to 0.318 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Halcor (AT:XAKO), which lost 3.83% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.527 in late trade. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) declined 3.37% or 0.300 points to end at 8.600 and Korres (AT:KRRr) shed 3.31% or 0.120 points to 3.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 54 to 53 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.25% or 3.15 to $1269.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.51% or 0.25 to hit $49.22 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.56% or 0.29 to trade at $52.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.0896, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8423.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 98.93.
