Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Retail, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.68% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 7.77% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.206 at the close. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) added 6.99% or 0.013 points to end at 0.199 and Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) was up 6.25% or 0.040 points to 0.680 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which lost 5.35% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.407 in late trade. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) declined 4.66% or 0.2200 points to end at 4.5000 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) shed 3.47% or 0.050 points to 1.390.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 38 and 10 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.19% or 2.37 to $1244.33 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.95% or 1.31 to hit $43.12 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.66% or 1.25 to trade at $45.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1126, while EUR/GBP rose 0.85% to 0.8825.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 97.50.
