Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Banking and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Intracom Hold (AT:INRr), which rose 9.03% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.326 at the close. Mytilineos Holdings SA (AT:MYTr) added 6.19% or 0.280 points to end at 4.800 and Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) was up 5.67% or 0.110 points to 2.050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 5.06% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.1500 in late trade. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) declined 3.85% or 0.200 points to end at 5.000 and Halcor (AT:XAKO) shed 3.23% or 0.012 points to 0.360.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 34 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.20% or 2.50 to $1255.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.20% or 0.10 to hit $50.34 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.11 to trade at $52.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.1170, while EUR/GBP rose 1.57% to 0.8977.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 96.68.
