Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Chemicals and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.60% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 9.29% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.1520 at the close. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 8.58% or 0.2300 points to end at 2.9100 and Intralot (AT:INLr) was up 7.44% or 0.090 points to 1.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 2.91% or 0.003 points to trade at 0.100 in late trade. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) declined 2.22% or 0.020 points to end at 0.880 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) shed 1.73% or 0.090 points to 5.100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 43 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.22% or 2.85 to $1267.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.30% or 1.19 to hit $50.63 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.53% or 1.33 to trade at $51.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.0917, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8921.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 98.38.
