Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail, Household and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which rose 9.73% or 0.055 points to trade at 0.620 at the close. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 9.56% or 0.2400 points to end at 2.7500 and Select Textile (AT:EPIr) was up 7.25% or 0.010 points to 0.148 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 8.00% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.092 in late trade. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 5.81% or 0.029 points to end at 0.470 and Hygeia (AT:HYGr) shed 5.37% or 0.008 points to 0.141.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 58 to 35 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.29% or 3.85 to $1314.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.37% or 0.60 to hit $43.31 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.94% or 0.44 to trade at $46.15 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.1162, while EUR/GBP rose 0.51% to 0.8536.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.70% at 95.95.
