Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.74% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr), which rose 10.00% or 0.1500 points to trade at 1.6500 at the close. Halcor (AT:XAKO) added 7.08% or 0.017 points to end at 0.257 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 6.96% or 0.057 points to 0.876 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which lost 2.69% or 0.0700 points to trade at 2.5300 in late trade. Reds (AT:CAMr) declined 2.59% or 0.008 points to end at 0.301 and Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr) shed 2.45% or 0.21 points to 8.35.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 53 to 36 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.56% or 7.00 to $1243.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.62% or 0.70 to hit $43.88 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.66% or 0.74 to trade at $45.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.1246, while EUR/GBP fell 0.85% to 0.7814.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 94.94.
