Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr), which rose 9.80% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.112 at the close. Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) added 5.21% or 0.100 points to end at 2.020 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 4.48% or 0.018 points to 0.420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 8.20% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.112 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 7.14% or 0.0100 points to end at 0.1300 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 4.85% or 0.005 points to 0.098.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 52 to 39 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.26% or 3.55 to $1340.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.61% or 1.09 to hit $42.89 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.26% or 1.00 to trade at $45.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1079, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8497.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 96.37.
