Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Travel, Construction and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 2.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Intralot (AT:INLr), which rose 8.13% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.665 at the close. Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) added 7.66% or 0.370 points to end at 5.200 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 6.74% or 0.132 points to 2.090 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Karatzi (AT:KRTr), which lost 10.00% or 0.750 points to trade at 6.750 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 2.57% or 0.0018 points to end at 0.0680 and Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) shed 1.87% or 0.025 points to 1.310.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 80 to 32 and 8 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.72% or 8.70 to $1202.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.30% or 0.21 to hit $70.53 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $78.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1751, while EUR/GBP rose 1.23% to 0.8984.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 93.78.
