Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Healthcare and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.96% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which rose 12.38% or 0.380 points to trade at 3.450 at the close. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) added 8.77% or 0.003 points to end at 0.040 and Select Textile (AT:EPIr) was up 7.30% or 0.013 points to 0.193 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Athens Medical (AT:AMCr), which lost 2.74% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.420 in late trade. Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) declined 1.22% or 0.070 points to end at 5.680 and Titan Cement Company SA (AT:TTNr) shed 0.76% or 0.175 points to 22.725.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 96 to 20 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.41% or 5.40 to $1314.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.33% or 0.20 to hit $60.22 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.69% or 0.46 to trade at $66.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.2053, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8872.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 91.57.
