Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Chemicals and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which rose 8.70% or 0.022 points to trade at 0.275 at the close. Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) added 8.01% or 0.470 points to end at 6.340 and Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) was up 7.14% or 0.002 points to 0.030 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which lost 4.46% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.500 in late trade. Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) declined 2.17% or 0.140 points to end at 6.400 and Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) shed 1.93% or 0.011 points to 0.558.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 69 to 34 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.22% or 2.80 to $1250.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.23% or 0.70 to hit $57.39 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.67% or 1.04 to trade at $63.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1755, while EUR/GBP rose 0.55% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 93.96.
